Impact

Our aim is to be a best practice Impact Measurement and Management (IMM) knowledge centre for Greece and the region

We believe financial capital can be used to make a positive, measurable difference out in the world to the equally important domains of Social capital, Natural capital and Human capital, to name a few.

The future belongs to companies that have measurable sustainability at their core to underpin their resilience and future growth potential, while at the same time benefitting people and planet.

How we define impact investing

Our definition of impact investing goes beyond simply mitigating risks or meeting compliance standards. Impact investing is about intentionally generating measurable social and environmental benefits alongside a financial return.

This definition ensures that true impact investors consciously support projects and businesses that deliver real-world solutions to pressing global challenges, such as poverty alleviation, renewable energy expansion, or education access, rather than merely avoiding harm or promoting best practices. At Investing For Purpose, we look to maximise both impact and accountability in every investment decision:

  • We invest in enterprises set up with the intention to make a positive social or environmental difference built into the core business model.

  • This difference must be tangible and measurable.

  • The business model must be commercially robust and capable of market rates of return.

  • We look for the measurable additionality of both our contribution as investors and the positive impact outcomes achieved by investee companies which might otherwise not occur.

How we maximise positive measurable impact while boosting business growth and resilience

  • We seek out talented purpose driven founders with passion and a track record aligned with stakeholder needs in their sector.

  • The IFP team assesses impact potential alongside commercial potential at every stage of the investment process.

  • Pre-transaction, we work directly with founding teams on a rigorous impact strategy development process to define the most measurable, accurate and illuminating impact goals and KPIs to track. These are ratified by our Impact Measurement and Management Committee.

  • We commit to up to 3 core KPIs with annual targets per investee, tied into our fund performance model. If we don’t reach a minimum of 60% of our impact targets weighted across the portfolio, as a fund manager we will forfeit 100% of carried interest. We fully support this EIF backed model that places an equal emphasis on measured profit and purpose.

We operate under the guidance and mandates of:

We are Greece’s representative fund for 'United For Impact’ a membership of 60+ European Impact Investors from across 20 EU countries. One of our aims is to adapt a new SFDR definition to supplement Article 9 that focuses on enterprises with social and environmental impact at their core.
